I think you could tell from our reaction two Sundays back how enthused we were about every aspect of the experience. The Big Hole is truly a gem and the region is some of the loveliest in all of Montana. Thanks again for giving us directions upriver for our wade fishing, and thanks for your many phone calls in pursuit of a guide.

Chris is genuinely outstanding, on so many levels, not least his belief in pursuing big fish in very skinny water, which is what yielded the majority of our catches and takes that day.

As the season moves on, I am fairly confident that you both are feeling the exhaustion that comes with catering so many out-of-towners, myself included.  Hopefully you can rest assured that your shared passion for fishing does in fact have an effect on us.  You guys have got a great operation out there in Melrose.   I wanted to drop you both a line to let you know that while John Houtzer and I were in MT, we couldn’t have asked for a better learning experience.  When it comes to fly fishing, the Sunrise Crew gave me a great perspective on what it takes to be a successful angler.  Fortunately, for me, both of you hosted a generous amount of information about fly fishing and I tried to absorb as much as I could in my short time there.  Some great fly fishing conversations, and some worthy tips definitely made the 10 hr trip worth it.  I look forward to returning next year with a greater understanding for what fly fishing is all about, and hopefully with a little more ability to catch some fish!
